- אפי, אָפָה(b. h.; √אף, v. אפף) (to heat, darken, cmp. חמץ, to bake. Keth.V, 5 ואוֹפָה and must bake. Pes.116a. Y.Ab. Zar. V, 45a bot. א׳ ג׳ תנורים baked three ovenfulls of bread; a. fr.Part. pass. אָפוּי baked, (as a noun) pastry. Pesik. R. s. 16 א׳ אחדוכ׳ (some ed. עפוי; Pesik. Eth Korb. p. 58b>, Yalk.
